Daters Reputation Sites

Posted on January 5, 2007

TruedaterOPW — Jan 5 — You've probably heard of Truedater.com by now. Truedater allows internet daters to post reviews on other daters. I wondered if they had to got to any level critical mass by now. Alas, looks like they're not doing that well. They're at 640k Alexa rank, with a 270k decline. Integridate.com has just started up so perhaps they'll get more press attention and word-of-mouth. Do you think these sites have a future? Why might dating sites partner with them. – Mark Brooks

Top 10 Media Trend Predictions for 2007

Posted on January 4, 2007

MOJO.COM — Jan 3 — 2007 will see development in the following areas:

  • VIDEO – Users will demand more quality in online video. Also, there’s way too many platforms and formats. Industry standards are needed.
  • THE RETURN OF EMAIL – Email marketing is making a slow but sure return to the landscape in 2007.
  • VERTICAL RISING – The rise of vertical communities will continue.
  • ACQUISITIONS – CNET for sale? Perhaps. Yahoo! and AOL? We think Google will block that. eBay will probably make a major move, maybe even with InterActive Corp. After MySpace fails with advertisers, Rupert Murdoch will turn to eBay’s Meg Whitman and lure her to run FIM/MySpace. Facebook will not sell. That ship has sailed.
  • OLD MEDIA vs NEW MEDIA – Old media will wake up and realize that Google is worth much more than they are combined and they try to collude to take on Google.
