TELEGRAPH.CO.UK — June 5 — A homeless man posing as a millionaire was arrested for
scamming 13 women for more than $100,000. Through MillionaireMatch.com,
Paul Kruger, 50, met and convinced
eight women that he was a Grammy-nominated music mogul who had worked
with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones, amongst others. Later he said
needed money for a CD and DVD manufacturing investment. Steve Kasper,
the VP marketing of Successfulmatch.com,
the parent company of MillionaireMatch.com, said
it was up to users to self-police. "We do tell all of our
members on all of our sites that you have to take precautions when
you’re on the Internet and looking at people that you’re going to
meet," he said. FULL ARTICLE @ TELEGRAPH.CO.UK

Seeking A Companion

Posted on June 5, 2008

Helen_fisher
CHICAGO TRIBUNE — June 4 — Gone are the days when it took a date, maybe two, to find out a person’s resume of likes and dislikes. Dating sites rendered that notion quaint years ago, and now SNS are doing their part to obliterate it. Thanks to online profiles that list everything from salary range to current reading selections, we’ve gotten used to knowing someone’s vital stats before we even meet face to face. "We’re looking for a companion," she said. "One hundred years ago a man needed a woman who would bear him healthy babies and take care of the home. Now we’re looking for a marriage between equals", said Helen Fisher, a noted anthropologist at Rutgers University and author of numerous books, including "Why We Love".
