Tallygram, OkCupid’s Foray Into Friend Finding On Facebook, Hits The Deadpool
TECH CRUNCH – Apr 17 – Tallygram, a Facebook-based friend-finding app created by OkCupid, has shut down, saying that the community never grew large enough to sustain the site. The site launched in November 2012. Existing users have an option to export their data from the service by May 15.
DateMySchool.com: Online Dating Site For Students
FOX BUSINESS – Apr 16 – DateMySchool is a dating site that targets students. The site now has ~200K users. The company is not yet profitable but it has received ~$3M in funding. Every user is verified upon sign up, alumni and students alike. DMS determines who can access your profile.

Singles Love Meeting Through Friends On AYI
PR NEWSWIRE – Apr 16 – 1.5M connections have been made in the weeks since AYI (AreYouInterested?) launched its new 'Friends of Friends' feature for singles to meet new people through mutual friends in March 2013. With more than half of singles claiming to have had a bad experience with online dating, and 58% of persons reporting meeting someone online who lied in their profile, 63% of singles say they'd prefer to have a friend in common when meeting someone online. According to AYI, women from the US are 64% more likely to interact with a man on AYI when there is a mutual friend in common.

eHarmony Moves From Dating To Job Matches
THE STAR – Apr 16 – eHarmony is planning to extend its services to match employers with people looking for a job. It expects to launch the service in the U.S. in June with the Canada following soon after. eHarmony VP Grant Langston says it could take up to a year to iron out the complexities. He says his company’s “secret sauce” is research that helps determine what types of people fit best for the long term. When employers post a job on eHarmony, job seekers in the database will be matched to that job and both parties will be notified. They can review each others’ profile and communicate online before meeting face-to-face. It is not yet clear who would pay for the service or how much it would cost.

OKCupid Partners With Coinbase For Accepting Digital Currency
