Millennials Say Credit Score Matters When Dating

Posted on April 5, 2017

Creditscoredating logo 2017WTSP – Apr 5 – A study found that the top two dating turnoffs for Millennials are workaholics and bad credit scores. The link between a credit score and romance has led to a dating site called creditscoredating.com. Users have to enter their credit score and users are matched based on the score. The dating site's CEO, Niem Green, says they have an 86%-89% success rate of long-term relationships and marriages using their method. Green has recently released a second book called, "Credit Score Dating: The sexiness of credit." She has written 7 books on relationships. Her new book called, "Single Minded," comes out in June.

CEO Of EliteSingles On How To Win In The Online Dating Space

Posted on April 4, 2017

Affinitas Jeronimo Folgueira for interviewITPRO PORTAL – Apr 4 – Jeronimo Folgueira, CEO of premium online dating platform EliteSingles, discusses the current state of the dating industry and gives his views on going mobile and premium pricing in the digital economy. The UK online dating sector is estimated to be worth ~£185M and is expected to grow by ~6% this year. The industry is getting crowded. In the UK alone, there are ~1k different online dating services. To succeed, you have to be different; when it comes to product experience, monetisation and marketing, you have to be better. If you don't excel at all three, you just can't keep up. If a company hasn't embraced mobile by now, it's already too late. To be mobile-first is simply not enough. 2017 is the year of the multi-platform user experience. The key is to create a responsive, easy-to-use service, regardless of the device. People are ever more willing to make larger online purchases via their mobile phones. Online dating is not just a playground for mobile millennials looking for a casual fling. The UK divorce rate is rising and the population is aging. As a result, the country is home to an older, single and increasingly tech-savvy population. This segment is breaking down the barriers of online dating.

Matchmaking Institute Conference, Co-Founder Interview

Posted on April 4, 2017

Matchmaking institute lisa clampittOPW INTERVIEW – Apr 4 – Later this month, Marc Lesnick (iDate host) and I will be speaking at the Matchmaking Institute conference in Manhattan, New York. I'll also be going through their matchmaker training. See signup options here. I interviewed the co-founder Lisa Clampitt.

What does The Matchmaking Institute do?
Lisa Clampitt founded MMI in 2003 as the only state certified school in the world offering certification in matchmaking. It is the go-to place to train, network, and grow a matchmaking business with a set code of ethics, quality standards, and a rock solid community. In addition, MMI offers workshops and professional conferences providing relationship and dating experts with a strong group of peers and constant support.

What will Internet dating professionals learn at your matchmaker's conference, and why should they attend?
Often, Internet dating professionals spend their time at tech conferences or focusing on the technology without understanding the resources and know-how of the matchmaking world. If we are truly to connect online and offline dating, it's crucial for the dating tech professionals to learn the latest matchmaking trends, how to grow and keep an affiliate base, etc. just as matchmakers have been learning the online market.

As our annual conference is the largest gathering of love professionals from over 35 countries, MMI has been instrumental in revolutionizing the concept of matchmaking and the dating industry – going from competition to collaboration. The belief is that together, we are more powerful. The Institute has been at the forefront of connecting technology and matchmaking to create a global marketplace for love. It combines the ease and global reach of technology with the personal, customized touch of matchmaking.

Who would be the most relevant speakers to inspire them with their iDating businesses?
Jenn Scalia is a leading Visibility Coach and Strategist for entrepreneurs looking to get known and grow their business online.

Mark Brooks and Marc Lesnick will be speaking about the immense opportunities for online and offline dating, as well as an overview of matchmaking and dating industry.

Paul Carrick Brunson who after studying with billionaires from around the world, he picked the key characteristics of these world-class leaders and will be speaking how you can integrate these into your business. Paul has worked with Oprah Winfrey on this very topic, among many other top leaders.

How can iDating companies work with matchmakers?
The Institute will be presenting an innovative concept on taking the technology of online to offline and specific strategies to create global collaboration and a global marketplace. This is key for the online industry to get into the mindset and understanding of how matchmakers work in order to harness the strength and opportunity of the collaboration.

Humor: The Ingredient Dating Sites Could Be Missing About Attraction

Posted on April 3, 2017

Eharmony compatibility picCNBC – Apr 3 – eHarmony collects a ton of data from its 10M users to feed its matching algorithms. eHarmony's users rank humor as highly as loyalty, kindness and affection. "Everybody says sense of humor is the number two or three thing they want in a partner and yet no-one's ever matched on it," said eHarmony CEO Grant Langston. eHarmony has conducted research to find out how that plays into compatibility. Participants watched 30 half minute videos and looked at images, rating them on how funny they think they were, and were assigned a type of humor.

  • Physical: pranks or falling Self-Deprecating: people make fun of themselves
  • Surreal Humor: producing events and behaviors that are obviously illogical
  • Improvisational Humor: where there is no planned course of action
  • Wit-Word Play: Includes puns, emphasis on unexpected meanings and usage of certain words
  • Topical Humor: pertaining to current events, often satirical
  • Observational Finding: the humor in everyday situations
  • Bodily: Includes toilet humor, as well as sexual humor
  • Dark: making fun of serious situations

Women who appreciated 'wit-word play' and 'self-deprecating' humor were most likely to score a second date. However, women who scored high on an appreciation for 'surreal' and 'topical' humor did not do as well. Men who appreciated 'improvisational humor' were most likely to score a second date. Men who appreciated 'observational' and 'surreal' humor were less successful. Having a shared level of appreciation for 'surreal humor,' 'dark humor,' or 'observational humor' was correlated closely with a successful first date.
