Meet The Founders Of The Bevy, A Chic Matchmaking Service

Posted on November 9, 2017

Thebevy logoTHE DAILY FRONT ROW – Nov 8 – Greta Tufvesson and Nikki Lewis are the co-founders of The Bevy, a personal matchmaking service with offices in NYC, LA, and San Francisco.

Q: What sparked the idea to launch The Bevy?
A: We wanted to reconnect people with the face-to-face introduction.

Q: How does your platform differ from other matchmaking services?
A: We have a three-step vetting process that requires a referral, ID and photo authentication, as well as an in-person interview. We don't charge a membership fee for women.

Q: Why do people go to a service vs. an app today?
A: There is rampant fraud in app and online dating. According to the FBI, ~$230M in reported fraud last year alone.

Q: Do you find that you have to compete with the apps?
A: We don't.

Q: What's the number one struggle you hear from clients in the dating world?
A: Time and access to a quality person who is likeminded and serious about being in a committed relationship.

Q: Who is typically your client?
A: Educated, professional, successful, fit, attractive, and serious about commitment.

Q: How many clients do you have?
A: We do not work with more than 30 active male clients nationwide at one time.

Q: How far do you get into it with your clients?
A: We are a full-service concierge. We enjoy planning the date. We are on the cusp of all things cool: new restaurants and bars, fashion, design, and tips. We have a stylist, life coach, and nutritionist on staff.

Coffee Meets Bagel Introduces New Video Feature

Posted on November 9, 2017

Coffeemeetsbagel video featureTECH CRUNCH – Nov 8 – Every day, Coffee Meets Bagel will ask users to answer a 'question of the day' within a brand new video section. Users record up to 8s of video answering the question. Once they answer the question, they will be able to browse the video section for other users in their area who have answered the question, and if they like what they see, they can match with them. Every 24 hours, the video section is wiped clean to make room for a new question, which lowers the stakes on answering the questions via video in the first place. It's unclear whether or not the video section will become a paid feature, but for now it is free.

New Gay Dating App Chappy Is Helping All Gay Men Find A Match

Posted on November 8, 2017

Chappy logoTOWLEROAD – Nov 7 – New gay dating app Chappy allows users to specify whether they're looking for "Mr. Right" or "Mr. Right Now." The app reports 3x more users are looking for "Mr. Right". The app doesn't tolerate discrimination based on gender identity, disability, race, religion or age. In fact, users must agree to the "Chappy Pledge" before entering the app in which they consent to treat other users with respect and kindness. Chappy is the brainchild of three co-founders with diverse backgrounds. Ollie Locke is a reality-TV personality who famously came out as bisexual while appearing on Made in Chelsea, and has since identified as gay. Co-Founder of Badoo Max Cheremkhin was inspired to work on Chappy as a means of breaking down the kind of stigmas about the gay community that fuel his native country Russia's hard stance against LGBT rights and safety. The third member of the founding team, Jack Rogers, brings a unique POV to his work – he's straight.
