Dating Apps Tend To Connect Neighbors And Friends Of Friends

Posted on June 4, 2018

Clover logoBUSINESS INSIDER – June 1 – Dating apps are increasingly connecting people who live or work close by, have the same commute, or went to college together. Match.com data reveals that 69% of active users set their default distance – i.e. how far away a match can live – to five miles. Meanwhile, dating app Clover found that, in New York City, most matches happen between people from the same borough. Still, Hinge reports that less than half of users set a maximum distance, and of those who do, the average maximum distance is 25 miles.

Lovoo Launches Live Video In France And Switzerland

Posted on June 4, 2018

Lovoo liveBUSINESSWIRE – May 31 – Lovoo Live enables users to broadcast and view live-streaming video, invite others to join their streams, chat, and earn virtual gifts. Grindr And Other Dating Apps Are Discussing Ways To Add STD Notifications

Posted on June 4, 2018

Dating apps general pic1MASHABLE – May 31 – Grindr and other gay dating apps are exploring ways to add the ability for people who test positive for an STD to notify partners using the app. Jack Harrison-Quintana, director of Grindr for Equality said, "Grindr works very closely with Building Healthy Online Communities on several initiatives including STD related notifications." Grindr recently launched several features around HIV testing reminders and HIV status sharing. The app Adam4Adam already includes a link on its Health Resources page to "STD notification services for partners and tricks," which directs to InSpot.org. Daddyhunt plans to release a new version of its app this summer that will include an option to log the date of a user's last STD test, and receive testing reminders every three months. Daddyhunt's General Manager, Casey Crawford, said that it is also in preliminary discussions about including partner STD notification resources as part of an upcoming user interface redesign.
