Court Dismisses Reveal Chat Holdco’s Antitrust Lawsuit Against Facebook

Dating Group’s Plans for $50M Venture Fund
EINPRESSWIRE – Apr 28 – Dating Group, the parent company of Dating.com, DateMyAge, Promise, Tubit, ChinaLove, and Dil Mil, closed a $50M corporate venture capital fund in 2020 to continue investing in services and IT companies that meet their mission. By the end of Q1 2021, Dating Group acquired a "slow dating" app, Once, for $18M. This was 14 months after Dating Group acquired Dil Mil, the growing app used by South Asian expats to meet in the U.S. "Our strategy includes acquiring innovative companies with a differentiated product-market fit and building products that will create a more robust ecosystem of social discovery," said KJ Dhaliwal, Chief Strategy Officer of Dating Group.
Senators Ask Google About Phone Call to Match on Day Before Testimony
CNBC – Apr 27 – The two top senators on the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on antitrust sent a letter to Google asking about an alleged call to Match Group the day before its top lawyer was set to testify about treatment on the Google Play app store. "We are deeply troubled by Match Group's claims that Google may have attempted to influence another witness's testimony," they wrote. Match's chief legal officer, Jared Sine, told senators during last week's hearing that employees at Google called Match after Sine's opening testimony became public. Sine said they asked why his testimony differed from Match's comments on its last earnings call, where executives said they believed they were having productive conversations about Google's 30% fee for in-app payments through its app store.

According to the study, couples' intimacy suffered throughout the past year as 50% of partners reported a decline in their sex life, while 27% said they felt a decrease in relationship satisfaction. However, 46% said they had not really noticed any significant changes.

Dating App Thursday Attracted 110K Users

The app is officially launching across London and New York on May 13. Thursday has been developed because its creators believe people are spending too much time on dating apps and can be indecisive.
British Startup So Syncd Raises €827K
EU-STARTUPS – Apr 27 – So Syncd, a dating app that matches compatible personality types, has raised a seed round of ~€827K to grow its user base in the US. The round is led by Upscalers investment club, with participation from KM Capital, a US VC firm and a number of angel investors. Created by siblings Jessica Alderson and Louella Alderson, So Syncd connects people on a more meaningful level. The app uses Myers-Briggs personality types to match couples. So Syncd now has ~60K users.
