Despite LinkedIn's assertion that it's a professional network, some feel it's inevitable that it will be used for dating purposes. However, the blending of professional and personal interactions isn't always welcome, with studies showing a high rate of unwelcome romantic advances, particularly toward women. Other unexpected platforms, like exercise app Strava and language-learning app Duolingo, are also being used for dating.
