PARSHIP – A Parship study reveals that despite wanting children, many Germans remain childless for several reasons:
- Financial reasons: 20% forego having children due to costs.
- Lack of suitable partners: 40% of men and 24% of women cite this issue.
- Career concerns: 11% of women and 8% of men worry about career setbacks.
- Timing: 56% say it wasn't the right time, especially among Generation Z (76%).
Additional factors include biological hurdles and partners' lack of desire for children (5% each).
