PARSHIP – The Parship Loneliness Index reveals that 23% of singles feel somewhat or extremely lonely, compared to just 12% of people in relationships. Additionally, 30% of partnered individuals report feeling lonely at times, even when their partner is present. Experts stress that loneliness is not just about relationship status but also the quality of social connections. For those who are extremely lonely, 64% of singles believe a relationship would reduce their loneliness. Eric Hegmann, a relationship therapist, advises couples to maintain strong social networks to avoid loneliness within relationships, while Stella Schultner encourages singles to build fulfilling lives through friendships and self-love rather than relying solely on a relationship for happiness.
