Happn also found that the number one quality Gen Z and millennials want in a partner is the ability to be caring; 40% of people said this is important to them, 39% cited kindness, while 35% said they place a premium on someone's sense of humour.

Happn Launches Its New Range of Voice Features

The new happn voice features will be gradually launched on the app starting today, first in France and Argentina, followed by the rest of the world. They include: the audio notes, calls and feeds. These features will be free and available to all users.

OPW – July 30 – The CEO of Happn, Didier Rappaport has stepped down. Didier co-founded Happn in 2013. He is also co-founder of the popular French video sharing service Daily Motion. Karima ben Abdelmalek is now President. Karima has been at Happn since 2017 and was General Counsel & Secretary. Official announcement in September.

NIKKEI ASIA – May 5 – Dozens of apps — other big names include Woo, TrulyMadly, OkCupid, Happn, Hinge, Tantan, QuackQuack and HiHi — are helping singles to pair up with partners of their choice. According to Statista.com, the online dating segment's turnover in India is expected to reach $783M by 2024 from $454M in 2021, making the country the second-largest national revenue generator for dating apps after the U.S. Currently, dating apps reach 2.2% of India's total population, with projections of 3.6% by 2024, according to industry surveys. Aisle achieved 3M downloads worldwide last year despite competition from Tinder and Bumble. QuackQuack, an Indian dating app launched in 2010, boasts 12M. TrulyMadly, another Indian app, claims 5M users. "Indian society is in a churn," says Delhi-based sociologist Bhavna Kapoor. "Rising education and financial independence among the youth, especially women, are making online dating more popular.

The app launched in 2014, and over time introduced new ways to connect online, like CrushTime, a game where users can see four nearby profiles and guess which one has liked their photo in order to match with them.
