Double-dip Recession Boosts Cheating Websites

Posted on June 6, 2012

Illicitencounters logo newDAILY MAIL – June 4 – Experts believe that divorce, which costs ~£13K, is behind the shift towards wide-spread infidelity. Illicit Encounters.com claims that since the economy worsened they have welcomed 27K new members – a 200% increase on the previous year. 'Having an affair is treated almost as a practical, rather than a romantic, decision.' The pursuit of sexual excitement, boredom with marriage and the need of an ego boost were other reasons men gave for cheating, according to he UK Adultery Survey 2012 by undercoverlovers.com. Meanwhile women were more likely to be seeking emotional fulfilment. IllicitEncounters.com boasts ~670K members, which is 3% of the UK's married population.

Irish New Year’s Resolution: To Start An Affair?

Posted on January 4, 2012

Illicitencounters logo newTHE INDEPENDENT – Jan 4 - According to extra-marital dating sites such as Illicit Encounters, Lovinglinks.com and MaritalAffair.com, the start of the year is the time most married men and women will sign up to commit adultery. IllicitEncounters .com, is expecting a 300% rise in new members this week having previously discovered January 4 to be "the most adulterous day of the year". "Christmas and New Year are times when couples spend an intensive period of time with each other and their families," explains extra-marital expert and spokeswoman for Illicit Encounters, Rosie Freeman-Jones. "This can be quite claustrophobic and sometimes leads to a 'cabin fever' situation where both parties feel irritated with each other and cracks in the relationship start to surface. Illicit Encounters alone has 43,000 Irish members.

Posted on November 22, 2011

Illicitencounters logo newDAILY MAIL – Nov 22 - The number of Catholics actively looking for affairs was almost twice that of other religions, a survey has found. A research showed 21.5% of the 600,000 members on an extra-marital dating site were Catholic – a high figure since they make up only 10% of the UK population. Spokesperson for Illicit Encounters Rosie Freeman-Jones says: ‘Religious people have a much stronger sense of right and wrong, which also means they're likely to get a bigger thrill from breaking the rules.

Dating Sites Have Made It Easier For People To Click With One Another

Posted on December 29, 2010

Online dating 121 ECONOMIST – Dec 29 – The new year can be an unhappy time but it is a golden opportunity for dating sites, as singles are hoping to find romance—ideally before February 14th. “The period between New Year’s Day and Valentine’s Day is our busiest six weeks of the year,” explains Sam Yagan, from OkCupid. Once seen as the last resort for a bunch of lonely geeks, online-dating services have gradually shed much of the stigma formerly associated with them. ComScore says Match.com and Zoosk saw 4.6M and 4.8M unique visitors respectively in November 2010. Deepak Kamra of Canaan Partners, an American VC firm that has backed Zoosk and BharatMatrimony, estimates that the industry’s revenues now amount to $3 billion-4 billion a year. The online-dating world has also spawned thousands of niche ones. Then there is the fuss over sites such as Illicit Encounters and Ashley Madison, which match people seeking partners for extramarital affairs. But to blame the service for infidelity is to confuse cause and effect. IllicitEncounters.com Seeks Agency

Posted on April 27, 2010

Illicit encounters logo PR WEB – Apr 27 - IllicitEncounters.com, the UK extra-marital dating
site, is looking for an agency for creative and media buying. As CEO
Adam Scott explains, the site finds it difficult to secure commercial
spots in mainstream media; "Today, our brand is more widely accepted
than ever, but we're looking to go further. As long as the execution is
delicate and the message is consistent, we think television advertising
in particular could be a hugely beneficial avenue for us", Scott
explains. FULL ARTICLE @ PR WEB
