US POLITICS – Sep 12 – iovation, the Device Reputation Authority, is launching an online community for its clients called Virtual Crime-Fighting Network. The network provides iovation clients and thousands of fraud professionals a private, virtual community to connect and collaborate in the fight against cybercrime. iovation Surpasses One Billion Tracked Devices
PRESS RELEASE – Sep 10 – iovation, the Device Reputation Authority protecting online businesses from fraud and abuse, now tracks the online behavior of ~1 billion devices. According to iovation, Linux devices have the highest % of fraudulent transactions originating from them. “Interestingly, we found that 2.3% of all transactions from Linux-based machines, 1.4% of all transactions from Windows machines and 1% of all transactions from Macs were fraudulent,” said Scott Waddell, VP of Technology at iovation. The billion devices that iovation tracks include everything from desktops to laptops, mobile phones to tablets, and handheld gaming devices to gaming consoles and smart TVs.

iovation Finds 60% Increase In European Fraud Online
PRESS RELEASE – Apr 25 – iovation, the Device Reputation Authority protecting online businesses from fraud and abuse, announced that the rate of fraudulent online transactions it stopped in Europe is 60% greater today than a year ago. The rate of fraudulent transactions originating from Europe jumped from 1.3% from January to March 2011 to 2.1% from January to March 2012 and showed upward movement every quarter in between. The top three European countries for online fraud over the last year were Romania, Lithuania and Croatia according to iovation. From April 2011 to April 2012, iovation stopped 15M fraudulent online transactions in Europe.
Dating Website Fraud Is Running Rampant
BUSINESS INSIDER – Feb 13 – According to the fraud protection firm Iovation, instances of fraud on dating sites has jumped more than 150% in the past year. In 2010, 1.4% of the online dating site transactions Iovation processed using its ReputationManager 360 program were found to be fraudulent; that number jumped to 3.8% in 2011. "Those bad actors can cause millions of dollars in lost revenue and damaged reputation to online dating sites, not to mention a loss of innocence for its users," Mark Brooks, said editor of OnlinePersonalsWatch.com.
