Posted on June 18, 2018

Millionairematch screenshot mar 15FORBES – June 18 – MillionaireMatch.com has been in the business since 2001. Technical Manager, Carl Feng and Customer Experience Manager, John Martinuk gave insight on where MillionaireMatch is headed in order to stay competitive.

Q: How does MillionaireMatch stand out from the competition?
A: We cater specifically to successful and attractive people, and help them find a match on the same page and with similar lifestyles. We provide the ability for our members to verify their income and photos proving they are who they claim to be.

Q: What can you tell me about the algorithm to help singles find love? How has it changed over the years?
A: We are using AI technology to improve our recommendation system.

Q: A lot of new apps have incorporated the "swipe left or right" feature. Do you see MM doing this in the future?
A: I really like that feature, because it's simple. We may have that feature available soon.

Q: You recently added a the feature "Recall". Can you talk about that?
A: The "Recall" feature allows members to recall any sent messages, photos, and even entire conversations. They just need to press on the message and hit "Recall" when they change their mind.

MillionaireMatch.com Introduces No-makeup Selfies

Posted on March 24, 2015

Millionairematch screenshot mar 15MARKETWATCH – Mar 23 – MillionaireMatch.com, a dating site for millionaires and attractive people, has introduced “true selfies", a feature that encourages women to put “makeup-free” badges on their profiles to verify their natural beauty. However, the site doesn’t have any photo verification for men. Not everyone is a millionaire on MillionaireMatch.com. The site claims 2M members globally, but it doesn’t disclose how many are actually millionaires. There is a verification process for finances for both men and women but it is only optional.

Interview With Jason Du, CEO And Founder Of MillionaireMatch.com

Posted on March 12, 2015

Jason duOPW INTERVIEW – Mar 13 – Jason Du is founder of an extensive and impressive niche dating network, SuccessfulMatch, which includes SeniorMatch.com, LargeFriends.com, BikerKiss.com and many other fascinating niche dating sites. I’ve known him several years now, from iDate, and finally got him to interview.  🙂  (Full disclosure: MillionaireMatch.com is a client of Courtland Brooks).

What is your founding story?
I graduated from UC Berkeley and worked in Silicon Valley for years. At that time I was curious why so many of my friends and coworkers, who were very successful people, were still single. When I asked them, they said: a)  they were  too busy, b) it was hard to find people matching their criteria and c) they didn’t want to date gold diggers. So this is how my idea for a dating site for successful and attractive people came up. I launched MillionaireMatch.com in 2001. The site quickly took off. I am very happy for my best friend who found his wife through MillionaireMatch.com.

What counties are you in now and do you have plans for expansion?
Most of our members are from USA, Canada, UK, Australia and Germany. Our headquarters is located in Ontario, Canada, and we are currently exploring other markets.

How are you different from sites like Match.com and OkCupid?
Many of our users are verified. We verify their income, education, photo, age, etc. We focus on having quality and genuine profiles on our site. We want to be sure that people really are who they say they are. We also understand that privacy is crucial to our members. For example celebrities are provided with a special access to ensure anonymity. We also allow our members to show off their luxury lifestyle by posting photos of their expensive cars, yachts, etc.

So what makes you different from a “Sugar Daddy” dating site?
MillionaireMatch.com is for successful singles looking for a serious, long-term relationship. Over 90% of our members stated they were looking for long-term relationship. Gold diggers are warned on our homepage that they are not welcome.

Tell us more about the income verification process. Do all members have to have their income verified?
It’s optional. This feature is for premium members only. Once they upload their profile photo, we ask them for their ID (passport or driving license), tax returns and property info to prove their income claim is true. If their annual income is over $200,000, they can place a “verified badge” on their profile.

What are your plans for mobile?
Our new iOS and Android apps will be launched in one or two months. They have totally new looks with more features.

Is Online Dating Revealing Our Biases, Or Reinforcing Them?

Posted on October 21, 2014

Luxy iconNY TIMES – Oct 17 – In recent weeks, two new mobile dating apps have been launched. One, called Meld, is marketed to black professionals seeking meaningful long-term relationships; the other, Luxy, invites wealthy individuals to find someone with whom to share their high-end lifestyles. Luxy is a mobile-based app by the same people who thought up MillionaireMatch.com. Luxy’s launch, however, provoked a lot of backlash. The news release called the service “Tinder minus the poor people.” Meld elicited some skepticism as well. At Ebony, Kirsten Magwood asks whether separating black people from a larger pool of singles is necessary: “Is racially based dating a dated concept in 2014?”

Interview With Darren Shuster, North American CEO For MillionaireMatch.com

Posted on May 18, 2014

Millionairematch screenshotMARKETWATCH – May 16 - MillionaireMatch.com recently surpassed 2M users. The site launched a digital billboard in Times Square to celebrate this milestone. The billboard says: “Join the 1%: Don’t get left behind.”

Q: How many members are actually millionaires?
A: That I would rather not disclose.

Q: Your billboard slogan suggests that the easiest way to become the 1% is to marry into it, right?
A: There are a lot of millionaire women on the site. A lot of them insist on a prenuptial agreement.

Q: Why do you think that is?
A: Women are a bit more interested in maintaining their independence.

Q: And there’s a section on the site to show off your toys?
A: Yes, I call it “digital peacocking.” The members get to show off their luxury goods.

Posted on June 5, 2008

TELEGRAPH.CO.UK — June 5 — A homeless man posing as a millionaire was arrested for
scamming 13 women for more than $100,000. Through MillionaireMatch.com,
Paul Kruger, 50, met and convinced
eight women that he was a Grammy-nominated music mogul who had worked
with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones, amongst others. Later he said
needed money for a CD and DVD manufacturing investment. Steve Kasper,
the VP marketing of Successfulmatch.com,
the parent company of MillionaireMatch.com, said
it was up to users to self-police. "We do tell all of our
members on all of our sites that you have to take precautions when
you’re on the Internet and looking at people that you’re going to
meet," he said. FULL ARTICLE @ TELEGRAPH.CO.UK
