PRESS RELEASE – Feb 11 – OneGoodLove.com, the relationship-focused online dating site for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) singles, released its Valentine’s 2013 “LGBT State of the Date Report" based on a survey of its members. 65% report that as states pass laws providing same-sex marriage rights, they find themselves more likely to consider marriage as their long-term dating goal. Gay men (68%) were more likely than lesbians (58%) to say this. Lesbians were more likely (32%) to say their parents would want them to be in a heterosexual relationship, even if it wasn’t loving or fulfilling, than were gay men (20%).

Problems Dating Sites Are Facing & Their Solutions
FAST COMPANY – June 28 – Online dating has ballooned to a $4 billion business. Now the industry faces new players and challenges.
oneGoodLove
Problem: Dominated by hookup sites like Grindr and Manhunt, the gay online-dating space underserves relationship-minded folks.
Solution: OneGoodLove, a sort of eHarmony for the gay and lesbian community, is evolving its matching system.
OkCupid
Problem: To improve matching algorithms, sites need to know who goes on dates with whom and how those dates turn out.
Solution: OkCupid Labs wants to advance its mobile platform to gather new kinds of data on real-world dating behavior. Via the app, users will be encouraged to give instant feedback about their dates with other OkCupiders.
Badoo
Problem: As online daters become conditioned to screening potential mates via in-depth profiles, the process of meeting new people online grows further from how offline attraction really works.
Solution: A social discovery app, Badoo facilitates meetings on the fly by encouraging users to find people right around them based on nothing more than a photo, an age, and an interest or two.
HowAboutWe
Problem: A happy customer is a lost user.
Solution: HowAboutWe, a site that connects people based on user-suggested activities, is launching a service for couples.

Same-Sex Dating
PRESS RELEASE — Jan 8 — oneGoodLove was created for the LGBT community, with a focus on singles who are ready to move past the point of casual dating and are ready to find "the one." The oGL Personality Test and Service uses a specifically-tailored matching algorithm for same-sex couples. Without visible profiles like most other dating sites, which are normally searchable by the general public, the oGL service allows singles to remain discreet while using the oGL service to find them a potential match.
