TECH CRUNCH – Sep 22 – Tinder is launching a new application for social polling. It is called "Tinder Stacks". The new feature will allow users to swipe right or left on anything they want – whether that's polling their friends which photo should be their new profile picture or what outfit should they wear tonight. While Tinder Stacks is discoverable though Apple's iMessage App Store, it's not technically a standalone app. Instead, the new app is included with the flagship Tinder app.

Signifyd has previously raised ~$30M.

Mark Brooks: Mobile dating apps will follow the same trajectory as Internet dating in its 1995-2005 genesis. I think we'll see a gradual shifting upwards of the mobile dating app paywalls. The mobile dating industry is getting to grips with its metrics now, and what it can afford for new member acquisition and expect for longer term ARPU. It will only get more expensive to acquire, so monetization will need to shift upwards as well.

Lively is not intended to replace Zoosk, but will rather live as a standalone offering.
Coffee Meets Bagel Will Send Users More Matches A Day
TECH CRUNCH – July 19 – Dating app Coffee Meets Bagel is making some big changes, rolling out a "ladies choice" update in the coming days. Instead of one-a-day match suggestion, CMB will give its members more options. Men will have 21 potential matches each day, because CMB research showed that men preferred to look through profiles of lots of ladies. And then women will receive a curated group of five men who already said yes.

The Blind Date Club Wants To Turn Echo Speaker Into A Matchmaker
TECH CRUNCH – May 9 – To use The Blind Date Club, users begin by simply asking Alexa to find them a date. Like Tinder, the app then returns a somewhat randomized match based on geo-location. But instead of swiping based on the person's looks, the app reads that person's profile and details common interests. In theory, these dating profiles would also be created by voice with users answering a series of questions posed by Alexa. Blind Date Club used dummy profiles to showcase how the technology works.
Tastemates Helps Users Find People Who Like What They Like
TECH CRUNCH – May 2 – On Tastemates, users are asked to swipe to indicate whether they liked a given movie, TV show or music. Then, as the app gets a better sense of what users like, it will recommend other things they might like. And it will bring up the activity of users with similar tastes, so they can connect. Tastemates is currently available for Android and the team behind the app is also working on an iPhone app.
