Pure, The Modern Version Of AdultFriendFinder, Wants To Educate Women

Posted on December 10, 2015

Pure screenshot itunesREADRUSSIA – Dec 9 – "Pure" dating app is purely for sex. Users create a profile and they have only one hour to hook up. After an hour, their Pure profile self-destructs. Last week, Pure hired Elena Rydkina to be its sex evangelist. Pure, as many adult dating sites, lacks female subscribers and Ms. Rydkina is meant to lure them in with her teachings about being open about their sexual wishes. But there should also be a male version of Ms. Rydkina to educate the men about the importance of so many things such as: "It's a cool idea if both partners have an orgasm". Women are not the only ones in need of "teaching."

Is On-Demand Dating A Tinder Killer

Posted on August 22, 2015

On demand datingMASHABLE – Aug 18 – Clover, Whim, Pure and HowAboutWe's Tonight app offer on-demand functions which cut to the chase so users can aggressively get on each others' calendars. Clover just closed $2M in funding (bringing total investment to $4M). Close behind Clover is upstart Whim, which launched in LA in 2014. Markedly different from Whim and Clover is the unabashedly more hookup-focused Pure, which is so radical and in-the-moment in its "demand" nature, that there are actually no profiles or Facebook integration. Having raised 10 times less investment capital than Clover ($400K versus $4M), Pure is already cash-positive.

Pure App May Dethrone Tinder

Posted on November 8, 2013

Pure screen-shot-2013-11-08-at-3-38-02-pmDIGITAL TRENDS – Nov 8 – New dating app 'Pure' is more focused on hookups than Tinder. Users don't have to link their Facebook account to Pure. Their presence on the service is minimal. Users photo and information is only hosted on the app for an hour at a time; then it's all wiped away until they make it available again. First five attempts to hook up are free. If Pure gets one thing right, it's the privacy factor.

Apple Approved Pure But It Had To Turn Into A Dating App

Posted on October 31, 2013

31-pure-appNYMAG – Oct 31 – Pure sex app has officially opened itself to the public but it had been forced to rebrand as an "instant companion finder," and take all the talk of instant sex to the subtext. Roman Sidorenko, Pure's co-founder commented that women are much more into meetings "right now" and have sex later if there is no pressure about having sex before the meeting. And they don't like the idea of committing to sex before the meeting. Staying within our concept "Help people to find company right here, right now within a specific context" we decided to change our marketing to "The right way to get a date. On-demand." And I don't think this is a pivot or change of focus.

New Sex App Pure Promises Zero-Effort Hookup Hunting

Posted on August 29, 2013

02145e30-f307-0130-f10a-3ae5fd224d52BUSTLE – Aug 29 – Pure is a much-hyped new app that promises a "quick and safe way to find sex right now." The app was launched by two San Francisco tech entrepreneurs Alexander Kukhtenko and Roman Sidorenko. The app works just like Tinder and Grindr. Users log in, create a basic profile and the app pulls up potential matches in the vicinity. The Pure difference is there's no pretense of non-sexual use.

Pure Dating App Works Like Uber

Posted on August 24, 2013

Pure-app-iphoneBUSINESS INSIDER – Aug 24 – Pure is a new app that connects people who are ready to get laid right now. Pure will be a paid app. The app's business model incorporates an in-app purchase system that charges users $9.99 for a 24-hour pass. Pure App Aims To Spice Up Users’ Sex Life

Posted on August 23, 2013

Pure-640x359MASHABLE – Aug 23 – Pure is a no-strings-attached iOS service resembling Craigslist's casual encounter channel; a hook-up tool that lets users browse who's around and what they want. Although it may be too racy to make it into the App Store, its founders say the app bans nudity and adheres to the iOS terms of service.

Pure: No-strings Sex App Launches

Posted on August 22, 2013

Pure app screenshotDAILY MAIL – Aug 22 – Pure app offers sex on-demand by simply asking users their gender and the gender of their preference, whether they can host and then shows them potential partners who answer 'Okay' or 'No Way'. Pure's intentionally soul-less and potentially dangerous approach to hook-ups has no profiles, no chat sessions before-hand and deletes unfulfilled requests after an hour. While Pure is focusing its efforts initially on the gay market, it hopes to eventually open up the bi, straight and polyamorous markets very soon afterwards. They will charge $9.99 for a day pass – allowing users unlimited requests for 24 hours.

The Rise Of Minimalist Sex Apps

Posted on August 19, 2013

19-pure-appNYMAG – Aug 19 – "We wanted an easy way to find sex," says Pure's co-founder Sidorenko. "We thought it would be cool to use an approach like Uber, where you create the request, and you get a car pretty soon. We thought it would be cool to have something like that to find a sex buddy." From that brainstorm came Pure, a new app that brings the on-demand convenience of Uber to the bedroom. They hope to be part of a cultural change surrounding online sex-discovery. They've enlisted female sexologist Carol Queen to help them reach women, and they're planning a series of marketing events at New York bars in the coming weeks.
