It stitched together photo and video collages that tell the stories of its users' lives. The app is the first to emerge from Zoosk's in-house incubator, Zoosk Labs, where the company has been experimenting with ideas that could expand its core business. Lively is not intended to replace Zoosk, but will rather live as a standalone offering.

Her Goes Live On Android
TECHCRUNCH – July 8 – The dating app focused exclusively on ladies who are into other ladies launched in 2013 in the UK, and back then it was known as "Dattch." Since, the app has rebranded to Her and launched across the United States, with total coverage reaching 55 different countries. Founder and CEO Robyn Exton explained that the app's recent expansion into South America and parts of Asia showed incredible growth. Given that many of these emerging markets are based on the Android operating system, Exton said that it didn't leave the company much of a choice.
Tinder Discontinues Service For Users Under 18
TECHCRUNCH – June 9 – The dating app has allowed everyone 13 years of age or older to use the app since it launched back in 2012. Anyone between 13 and 17 years old was only allowed to match with others in that pool. This change will take effect next week and is said to impact less than 3% of the global user base.
Badoo Launches Photo Verification
TECH CRUNCH – Mar 25 – Badoo is launching photo-verification and verified profiles to make online dating safer. When a user signs up, they'll be asked to verify their profile. Users can opt out, but that means they might be excluded from view for other users who have chosen to connect only with verified users. If they choose to verify, Badoo will send them a request for a photo with the person performing a specific gesture.
Digital Dating Panel At Disrupt New York
TECH CRUNCH – Mar 14 – There will be a digital dating panel at Disrupt New York this May. Bumble CEO & Founder Whitney Wolfe, Her founder & CEO Robyn Exton, and Coffee Meets Bagel co-founder and COO Dawoon Kang will discuss how niche dating services could be the next big thing.

Dating App Once Integrates With Wearables To Show Heart Rate
TECH CRUNCH – Jan 13 – Once, a dating app with ~600K users, announced an integration with Fitbit and Android Wear. Once lets users see their heart rate when they look at their matches. In the next version of the app, the user will be able to opt-in to a feature that will send their heart rate to their match once it's recorded. When you catch sight of your beloved and your heart starts racing, that's because of an adrenaline rush, said Dr. Reginald Ho, a cardiac electrophysiologist.
Coffee Meets Bagel Adds Its Own Version Of Super Like With ‘Send A Woo’
TECH CRUNCH – Dec 22 – Coffee Meets Bagel launched "Send A Woo", a feature similar to Tinder's Super Like. With "Send A Woo", Coffee Meets Bagel's users can express higher-than-usual interest in a potential match. CMB launched in 2013. The app delivers one match per day. Users then have 24 hours to respond. If both users liked each other, the app would then connect them in a text conversation.

Tinder Ditches Moments
TECH CRUNCH – Nov 13 – Tinder has launched an update that adds employment/education info into the user’s profile as well as a revamped inbox. With the inbox revamp, Moments, the app’s Snapchat-like photo-sharing tool, is retiring. Moments launched in the summer of 2014 with the goal of kickstarting conversations among matches. Users were able to share photos (which expire in 24 hours) with all of their matches in a single blast. Tinder has recently hooked up with Instagram to let users share their most recent Instagram photos as an extension of their Tinder profile, which may have made Moments less useful.
Tinder Introduces A New Matching Algorithm
TECH CRUNCH – Nov 12 – Tinder is releasing a new matching algorithm as well as new profile and messaging features. The new algorithm is meant to look at more data points as a user swipes left and right. Tinder CEO and co-founder Sean Rad wouldn’t share any details on how the new algorithm works. Tinder is also adding the ability for users to include their work and education information.
