True Launches Campaign Proposing Legislation Requiring Online Dating Services to Conduct Criminal Background Checks or Disclose Absence

DALLAS, July 6 /PRNewswire/ — In an effort to make online dating a safer, True today announced that it is launching a state-by-state campaign in support of legislation requiring online dating services to conduct criminal background checks or to prominently disclose to its members if it chooses not to provide this safety enhancing service. Already garnering strong support in the company’s home State of Texas, Senator John Carona and State Representative Will Hartnett have joined True’s safety movement as sponsors of the legislation.

More Married Women Cheating On Their Husbands

NEWSWEEK COVER – NEW YORK, /PRNewswire/ — More married women are cheating on their spouses than ever before and the infidelity gender gap is almost certainly closing…Couples therapists estimate that among their clientele, the number is close to 30-40% of women, compared with 50% of men. Delaware Court Decides Tax Case in Favor of IAC/InterActiveCorp

Google Sued Over Orkut Code

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Google said late on Wednesday that it has been sued by Affinity Engines, which alleges that Google’s Orkut social networking site is built with code stolen from its company.  …Google, which is preparing a much-anticipated initial public offering, said Affinity’s claims are without merit. …Affinity further charged that Orkut Buyukkokten had promised he would not build a rival social-networking service at Google.
