When Do I Pull My Profile?

Posted on October 3, 2004

OWH–When's the appropriate time to pull your profile off a dating site? The decision to remove your profile is tantamount to taking a date home to meet your parents. And getting to that point can resemble a game of chicken. A guy might call to announce, "I've taken down my profile" just as you're headed out on your second date of the day. Melissa Darnay, author of "Dating 101: The Instant Cure for Romance Blues," encourages daters not to rush.

Dubious of Online Dating; Teens

Posted on October 3, 2004

ADN–…The core theme of any serious Internet matchmaking service is its personality test. These tests have widespread use today and not just for finding love. Sites are popping up everywhere for this very purpose. eHarmony.com claims to have a higher match-to-marriage rate than any other dating Web site and displays happily wed couples at every click of the button, though it is the same handful of couples over and over again. All of these sites are meant for the use of those who are 18 or older.

Woman Says Matchmaking Service Should Be Dumped

Posted on October 3, 2004

WNBC–Finding that someone special can prove to be quite challenging, and sometimes, services that promise to make it easier turn out to be disappointing. With many of the services — dating clubs or online introductions — if the right match fails to appear, it’s not viewed as a loss. But when you invest $5,000 in a service, serious money is expected to yield some serious introductions.  Rita Karmiol is a successful business woman and mother of two teenagers. Between work and travel, she has little time for dating.  That’s why Kate McCabe’s Connections (real world matchmaking service) sounded good to her. Alas. WNBC
