DESERT DISPATCH — Mar 7 — "We are using True’s bill as a template," said Odisho, aide to assemblywoman Fran Pavley, D-Agoura Hills. She said that Pavley intends to expand its provisions to non-Internet dating services as well. Earlier this year, a North Hollywood man pleaded no contest to felony identity theft charges and authorities said he had obtained upwards of 150,000 Choicepoint (Rapsheets.com) records through a fake business. Choicepoint had not been forthcoming about the identity theft peril that was created when it’s database was compromised.
I’m glad to see that someone is finally taking online dating services to task for not doing any kind of background check on paying members.
If only they’d been checking back in 2003, when I went on an ill-fated date with Ronald Fischer, who raped me (among other women) on his yacht during a first date, I wouldn’t be on disability for RR-PTSD (Rape-related Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome)and living in a world of fear. Fischer ALREADY HAD a record as a sex offender in MA and RI, but there was no way for me to find that out in 2003, especially since he used false names and addresses, etc. And then he jumped bail and left the country just before the jury found him guilty on all counts. Life just isn’t the same.

I want to complain of Lavalife.com. I post a profile on their site and after some time I decided to upgrade my membership
and I paid for this, in a day or two after I had paid for using the site my profile was suspended and when I contacted
their support team to find out what went wrong they deleted my profile. I asked about the reason. First they told me that
something was wrong with my photos and asked me to send them some more photos of me in my usual surroundings which I did.
Then they said no word about the photos, they said my profile was created with violations of some of their rules.
But prior to that profile was viewed and approved by the administration of the site so claiming that it was created wrong was a nonsense. When I told them about this, they said that they got complaints regarding my behavior , that was also not true as I never use bad language , I’m always being polite. They don’t want to return me the money, they took my money and didn’t provide me with the services that they promised to do.
