RELISH NOW — Jan 5 — Sniffin’ for love: We’ve seen speed dating, online dating and something even called gazing dating, where singles silently stare into each other’s eyes. In 2006, the courtship process will morph into smell dating. "Sniffin’ for Love" parties will involve blindfolded lonely hearts who take turns sniffing each others’ hair, neck, shoulders, and, for the adventurous, armpits. Singles have to keep sniffing strangers until olfactory desires match up.

Hi all,
I don’t necessarily agree with this approach, but odor is an important aspect to attraction. Olfactory perception is the oldest of the five senses, and if I remember correctly from my classes in psychophysiology, it’s the only one that’s directly linked to the limbic system. The limbic system helps regulate memory, fantasy, and emotion.
As such, it makes senses that certain odors can either enhance or minimize feelings of attraction. Of course, I’m not saying here that compatibility testing should be reduced to aromatherapy 🙂
Thanks,
