SILICON REPUBLIC — July 12 — Profileapproval, a company developed by the owners of dating site AnotherFriend.com, has come up with a technology called Profile Approval to keep inappropriate material from appearing on websites such as Bebo and MySpace. The service will help to eradicate inappropriate or misleading photographs or profiles. The service is capable of processing 1,500 photographs an hour.

Profile approval feature is available at a new release of Pilot Group Dating Pro software (www.datingpro.com/dating). It’s really useful to prevent scammers and bad or abusinf content. Now besides approving uploads, you can check profiles.
On the whole it’s a good tendency and it makes dating industry and a dating site itself more secure and reliable. That’s what our user need in the first place.
Unless I misread the profileapproval.com website, it sounds less like a technological solution and more like an outsourcing company.
I think this is an important step in the fight against profle spam. Too much of it out there. Spammers have realised that they can use their profile photos to direct traffic to their own affiliate offers. Would be so great if this technology was used in all the social networking sites!
