BUSINESS WIRE — Nov 14 — Jangl is powering matchTalk(SM), a new Match.com service that allows its members to use their phone to talk with other members without compromising their privacy. When Match.com members choose the "talk to him or her" option, they are moments away from connecting over the telephone without ever giving out their phone numbers. Once a member makes a request to talk and the recipient accepts, both are given a unique number that allows them to call each other at anytime without revealing their actual numbers. Caller ID displays the matchTalk(TM) number, not a personal phone number. Also, Jangl is now available directly to all U.S. consumers. "We are always looking for new ways to help people connect and create great relationships. We know that the first phone call with a potential romantic interest is critical in determining whether you have chemistry with someone." — Jane Thompson, VP & GM, Match North America.
Mark Brooks: Singles want to talk. Anonymous calling helps them connect a little earlier in the 'getting to know you' cycle and gage chemistry. Within 18 months, all major dating sites will offer some form of voice connections service. When you lose your customers to offline 'voice,' you lose your customers. There are a number of options emerging for keeping the dating sites hooked into their customer base and giving them voice connections. I'll be reviewing matchTalk and others shortly. (DISCLAIMER: I am advising Vumber.com)

Mark,
I would definitely be interested in seeing your review of these types of services.
At http://www.ChristianSinglesDating.com we take security and member safety very seriously. We encourage members to NOT give out their phone numbers too soon, by communicating with them online. Women are very reluctant to give out phone numbers, whereas most men want to get on the phone to talk right away.
I think a service like this would be of great benefit to our members. But since our service is offered as a ministry and we provide thousands of full free and financial hardship memberships, our budget wouldn’t compare to other dating site budgets, so the cost would have to be passed on to our members who actually use it.
So in reviewing these services, I would be interested in if there is site integration, if I would be an “affiliate” and earn affiliate commissions for referring my members to use this service, or if they would charge me and my members would get it free.
I guess I’m curious how Match.com is working with it. If Match.com’s members use it as part of their paid membership, if it is available for their free trial members? Or if Match.com offers it, but their members get charged an additional usage fee, and they earn a commission, or exactly how the fee structure works.
Thank you,
Nannette Thacker

Did I miss it? Have you reviewed similar sites yet? Everytime I go to vumber.com it just says “coming soon.”
I would really like to get something for my site and I’m not finding any other similar sites.
Vumber will be launched mid January. Not too much longer to wait Nannette. I’ll contact you directly and get you a demo.
Great! I am looking forward to it. My last email to the “other” guys was sent on December 18th and I still haven’t had a reply.
🙁
