OPW — Nov 15 — Here's an ad from TRUE's latest arsenal of ads. Cool, raunchy, good for business? What's your thoughts. Let's take it into the comments section… – Mark Brooks
Been there. Done that. Our website (www.manhunt.net) sponsored the Mr. Gay Mexico contest recently. For the swimsuit competition the male contestants modeled speedo swim wear with the name “Manhunt.net” printed across the seat. It’s product placement. There’s a video of it on YouTube.

We’re in the business of love, which automatically makes us all in the sex business. This image definitely gets the juices flowing. It gets guys to sign up, but the funny thing is, these images also work on women…from what I hear.

I don’t buy into any of these internet dating services that promote sex in any way, shape or form. I believe they are bogus, it’s a tease to get you to join, and it works! I learned my lesson years ago.

TRUE has some of the best “sex” campaigns out there. It is all branding and TRUE has done a great job of branding itself as horny, sluttish, and sexy. Within an industry that is selling relationships AND sex, True’s campaigns are a direct differentiator. When we began the advertising for myPartner.com, we used TRUE as a baseline for how we wanted our brand to be perceived…partnering sex within a relationship.

Hi Sam,
Christiancafe introductions result in sex on frequent occasion. That’s good, isn’t it?
In considering how your product be best designed to initiate healthy introductions, I think one should also keep in mind that love, and healthy sex are the end goal.
That said, I’d like to see more sites incorporate sexual compatibility matching into their profiling. Its part of the industry’s responsibility to its users. Love and healthy, copious sex go hand in hand.

Mark, great blog!
Our ads conform with the PG rating criteria. We go to extraordinary lengths to keep them from being displayed to persons under 18. We also go to great lengths to keep individuals under 18 off our site.
Our ads are “sexy”; but, no more so than what one sees on prime time TV or even ads being displayed in stores at the local family shopping mall.
Sex, whether engaged in before or after marriage, is an integral part of a healthy romantic relationship and the subject of sex should be addressed by dating sites. Otherwise, in my opinion, we are not doing our job.

Our dating site is designed to make connections, but in keeping with Christian principles and morality, the sex comes after marriage. And, yes, that is good, when it happens that way!
Certainly, there will be those who connect who don’t adhere to this Biblical mandate, however, the vast majority of our members do.
Otherwise, why not just go to a secular site, if you aren’t living a proper Christian life, or you aren’t a Christian to begin with?
We exist for those who follow Jesus and adhere to His teachings about life – including the proper place for sexual relations, i.e within marriage.

What is WRONG with those guys? Maybe I’m the only one who’s confused… but they’re trying to be all “righteous” with background checks, etc… and then run ads that look like ads for an x rated site. They are good business-men, from what I hear… so I’m sure those risque ads convert well; but I think those ads are “off point” when it comes to their (original) marketing message.

“these images also work on women…from what I hear.”
Men want to check out good-looking women. Women want to check out the competition. So yes, often even when targeting women, the best ad to display is one featuring another woman.

I finally get what they mean by “back”ground CHECK.
