I didn’t like it. The only session I really enjoyed was the women talking about why social networking sites isn’t a threat to our businesses. I can’t really tell why I didn’t like it, so I know that it may sound harsh and not constructive. That is not my intention of course. Maybe most of the stuff just wasn’t very usuable when you’re doing business in Denmark, AND when you have a very good technical team developing all of your stuff on your own (and then don’t find the whole outsourcing/platform stuff relevant). Maybe your expectations are just to high when you fly 12 hours both ways to get there. I don’t know.
The most concrete thing I can think about was regarding the usability author and guru. IMO he talked to much about what it was and why to do it, instead of giving us concrete tips and findings 🙂

I liked the conference and like that the two conferences are combined. I might have been one of the few attendees that got involved in multiple topics on both sides of the convention. I think you are talking about two different markets altogether, but there is clearly a great deal of crossover. What is evident is that both the social networking and dating communities seem to be from two completely different mindsets, so most people won’t like the integration of the two conferences. I personally hope you always keep them together – perhaps partially overlapping on one day might be interesting with one wrapping up and one continuing. I will say that I think an interesting session would be bringing some panelists together from both the dating and social networking sides of the table. That to me would have been the most interesting content.

The conference seemed about the same as previous years. Most of the sessions consisted of newbies asking basic questions. The sessions should be more organized around a discussion forum rather than just Q&A.
I also found it quite interesting that OBC is not allowed to participate on panels because iDate is not an “adult conference”. Altough Penthouse seemed to be welcomed with open arms. Maybe that was because Penthouse was there representing SeniorFriendFinder and not AdultFriendFinder. LOL!

I do hope that the organisers of iDate consider a “casual dating” session at the very least. Many of our partners are normal dating sites which cross-sell some of their members onto our “casual dating” platform.

Why would not OBC be allowed to participate? Correct me if I am wrong but Mate1 was there, wasn’t it?
