“Zoosk has quickly grown to a community of over 40 million singles”
That’s almost the size of Twitter, not sure if I buy that??

The more I read about these guys, the more impressed I am – they’re definitely part of the new wave of online dating companies, run by people who have used their own product rather than stuffy corporate CEOs.
The figure of 40m singles is pretty misleading, but they certainly are flying right now – I wish them well and would love to meet the team behind the site.

Considering Zoosk has 17M monthly active. 40M profiles could actually be a low-balled number.

40M profiles, hmmmm. I wonder what the ratio of users with multiple profiles to single user profiles would be? Than add in the spam type profiles designed to draw singles to pay per porn type sites. Eliminate the multiple profile and spam profiles, what is the actual number of ‘users’ who have a profile? Next is the statistics of the population space of this 40M profiles? Standard statistics teach us that a large sample space is necessary to calculate the statistics of single user accounts, multiple user accounts, and spam accounts; I believe 40M profiles is sufficently large enough. What are the statistics for each group? Finally, the sincerity of these profiles, how many are truely single and actively looking for a partner vs those who are involved in a relationship and seeking escapisim? What are these numbers?
