ABC NEWS — Sep 8 – When you use the Internet to search, transfer money and shop, you expect quick results. But that's the wrong way to approach Internet dating. Evan Marc Katz, a dating coach and founder of online dating profile writing service E-Cyrano, said daters need to take a longer view.
Here are five tips for dating online.
1. Differentiate yourself with details.
2. Pick the perfect profile picture."It is close-up. It is smiling. It is recent," Katz said of the all-important profile picture.
3. Search for partners strategically. "What you look for is irrelevant if they're not looking for you back", said Katz.
4. Before you publish your profile, solicit some feedback from your friends.
5. Write a winning first e-mail.
