Australian dating site Oasis Active. Network Ten currently holds just
under 40% of Oasis Active, with the remainder held by private
investors. Oasis Active commenced operation in April 2008 and its
international network of users is ~998,000, with average monthly growth
of 15% or more than 80,000 users. Oasis Active was developed and is
managed by 3H Group. 3H Group was founded by CEO Dave Heysen and CTO
Daniel Haigh. Mr Haigh previously established one of the largest
international online dating websites, Soulmates Technology, which was

New U.S. Census Report Shows Rise In Number Of Singles
CENSUS.GOV — Aug 31 — The number of unmarried Americans 18+ increased by ~4M over the past year to 95.9M (includes those who are widowed and divorced), according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s annual “National Singles Week” fact sheet.
Other interesting figures from this recent report:
- 38% of voters in the 2008 presidential election were unmarried, up 2% from the last presidential election in 2004. (Source: Voting and Registration in the Election of 2008)
- 15.8M unmarried Americans 65+, up from 15M in 2008. (Source: America’s Families and Living Arrangements)
- 87 unmarried men 18+ for every 100 unmarried women in the U.S. This ratio was 86:100 in 2008. (Source: America’s Families and Living Arrangements)
So there are more singles, and more elderly singles, and guys are living a little longer.
