Finding Love Online: 5 Tips For Digital Dating
ABC NEWS — Sep 8 – When you use the Internet to search, transfer money and shop, you expect quick results. But that's the wrong way to approach Internet dating. Evan Marc Katz, a dating coach and founder of online dating profile writing service E-Cyrano, said daters need to take a longer view.
Here are five tips for dating online.
1. Differentiate yourself with details.
2. Pick the perfect profile picture."It is close-up. It is smiling. It is recent," Katz said of the all-important profile picture.
3. Search for partners strategically. "What you look for is irrelevant if they're not looking for you back", said Katz.

Matchmaker Masters The Chemistry Of Dating
27EAST — Sep 7 – On August 8, matchmaker Janis Spindel hosted a
“mini-match” dinner party with 20 of the most eligible, beautiful and
smart women sharing a five-course dinner with 10 of her “top” men. The
event is one of the ways Ms. Spindel connects singles. While women do
not pay to be part of those parties, the men each dished out $10,000.
For an annual subscription to Ms. Spindel’s Serious Matchmaking fees
begin at $50,000. With over 800 marriages and 1,200-plus relationships
under her belt, Ms. Spindel knows what works. A client usually has only
two 2 years to work with Janis. If they do not find a match in that
time, then they are not ready to settle into a relationship, she says. FULL ARTICLE @ 27EAST

Appliance Of Science In Finding Love Online
TELEGRAPH.CO.UK — Sep 5 – eHarmony, which is launching a major advertising push into
the UK this month, claims 236 of its successfully-matched couples get
married every day in the US. eHarmony used the research to create a
patented algorithm to match up potential lovebirds' core traits and
personalities. "This is real scientific stuff, we've got the UCLA
marriage lab and six PhDs working on this," says Dr Warren Waldorf. The
company has expanded into Canada, Australia and the UK and is "actively
looking" at opening in several other countries. It is also exploring
the possibility of specialist ethnic and religious sites. Since its
launch in the UK a year ago, eHarmony has attracted just 400,000
members, compared with 6.5m at rival Match.com. FULL ARTICLE @ TELEGRAPH.CO.UK
Twitter-like Dating
READ WRITE WEB — Sep 3 – According to OK Cupid, only 32% of dating site messages receive a response. Of the successful efforts, the majority of first contact messages are brief. The ideal message length from men to women is between 200-300 characters and from women to men it's a mere 50 characters. In a recent blog post, the company writes, "Almost 16% of first messages are over 2000 characters (roughly 400 words), and the average is 743! We've found that the most effective messages are much shorter. After about 360 words (1800 characters), you start scaring people off, like the online equivalent of a face tattoo."
