THE STAR – Nov 10 – It's only been two weeks since www.BeautifulPeople.com launched across the globe and the site has already rejected 1.8 million applicants and approving only 360,000 new members. Members of the opposite sex vote on each new applicant and only those approved are allowed to join the site. Despite the controversy it has faced, BeautifulPeople.com claims to have over 540,000 members wordwide and 4 million unique visitors each day.

A two-week old site ranked 56,346 by Alexa has 4 million uniques daily?
According to Compete.com, it has 1,334 uniques. Ok, so they’re off by only a factor of 3,000 – but whose counting, anyway?;)

Good point Sam, I rarely head much from Alexa but Compete on the the other hand….and how do you get 4 million uniques from 540K members. Doesn’t add up. Mark you must have scratched your head on this one before posting it…

I’m not clear on why these things are posted at all. The stats are clearly exaggerated beyond anything reasonable. A factor of 3,000 to 1 is beyond the pale (heck, a factor of 5 to 1 would be troubling).
Mark?

15k visitors according to Compete, although I’m more of a Quantcast kind of guy these days. What a goofy site. They’ll make some money but really, it’s entertainment more than anything. And in six months another one will come around after this one stops sending out press releases.
I was told I’m too good looking for the site. They have to create an ultra-premium brand for me to join, ha.
