There are mistakes at the subtitles
“eharmony 800,000 Subscribers in the UK”
Is it 800,000 Worldwide Subscribers?
(800,000 Subscribers @ USD 40 Average Revenue per Subscriber == projected revenue USD 320 million)
“6.5 Million Subscribers in the UK” is impossible for Match.
All IAC Personals have less than 1.7 million Subscribers
—————————–
SinglesNet is a complete scam!
Homepage says #1 Visited Online Dating Site in the U.S.A. More than Match, More than eHarmony * Hitwise as of – Dec 2008
Now traffic is in decadence, check it using Alexa.
They show you profiles of women but the screen says
“*photos of this page may not be of actual Singlesnet members ”
then when you register, you receive 3 fake messages from women.
If you try to read those messages, they say nothing, only hearts; then when you try to contact those women, the subscribe screen appears.
They are using the same tricks as AdultFriendFinder.

This is incredible news. I can’t believe how much money these dating sites are now making. As for SinglesNet, I also think this is a pretty scammy website. But then again, so is adultfriendfinder and look how much money that was sold for.
I’m curious at how much plentyoffish.com is currently making now that they are not 100% free.

After a soft launch in Britain in July 2008, Eharmony has been in the middle of a big ad campaign. The site added 130,000 UK subscribers in January, according to the firm, and now has more than 800,000 (in the UK), paying up to £34.95 a month, depending on length of subscription. Match.com, longer established in the UK, supposedly has more than 6.5m subscribers in the UK.

Hi Nick,
The UK (non-adult) dating market has been estimated by Mintel as worth just under £100m for 2009.
800,000 subscribers at £34.95 a month for eharmony in the UK would equate to a whisker under £28 million pounds a month – or £335M a year.
I think Fernando has a point… and the original article as worded is potentially misleading.
