When you log into the app, Skout automatically shows you where other Skout singles are in your area. You click on the picture of someone you find interesting, then send them a message. It’s about time that developers and entrepreneurs started creating dating mashups – between hardware GPS, location services like FourSquare and Gowalla, and phone call, conference call, and SMS API access, one could create a fairly complete overlay dating service without a ton of work.
Might even be able to avoid the user acquisition part, if it could rely on location data from third-party services with users.
Our customers have seen that voice interactivity gets folks to stick around. I think even a ChatRoulette style service (that drops you into a phone chat with a random nearby person) could go over well.
