NATIONAL POST – Apr 30 - To date, more than a million South Asian couples are claimed to have emerged from Shaadi.com, the world's largest matrimonial matchmaking website, and many have their parents to thank. Roughly a fifth of Shaadi.com profiles were created by parents. The trend of pursuing dates via matrimonial websites such as BharatMatrimony.com or Apnavichola.com has spread so feverishly in Canada that India-based Shaadi.com chose to open its first North American centre in Mississauga two months ago.

I am not sure whether Shaadi.com is the world’s largest matrimonial matchmaking website as claimed. Bharatmatrimony has a membership of more than 20 million–as per its website—which should make it the most successful matrimony brand in the world. I think, it was also the first Indian website to open operations in North America.
