GLOSSY NEWS – Nov 13 – eHarmony claims that the marriages it engenders last longer and are more contented than normal. It bases its matches between singles on compatibility traits. “This is the problem”, one genetics researcher, Dr. Tsung Foo of Apple Fertility Clinic, a new app for the iPhone, professes, “since compatibility is not a natural human species mating trait. That is not how sex works.” Geneticists argue that it will inevitably lead to species homogeneity in generations to come which will threaten extinction. Personality compatibility is realized only when there is sameness regarding human attributes. Foo says: “for the sake of species survival the largest and most diverse gene pool is desired. That means steering away from homogeneity. It is a fundamental rule of Natural Selection.” FULL ARTICLE @ GLOSSY NEWS
Mark Brooks: But on the other hand, if couples have a little more in common, they will stay together more. Lower divorce rates = happier families and kids, for the most part. This can ONLY be good for society. Surely. What am I missing?

Is that Dr. Tsung Foo really exists? I googled him and can not find his research!
Several studies show that pill users make different mate choices, on average, compared to non-users.
I will respectfully recommend Dr. Tsung Foo to read:
1) “Human oestrus” Gangestad & Thornhill (2008)
“Only short-term but not long-term partner preferences tend to vary with the menstrual cycle”
2) “Does the contraceptive pill alter mate choice in humans?” Alvergne & Lummaa (2009)
“.. whereas normally cycling women express a preference for MHC (Major Histocompatibility Complex) dissimilarity in mates, pill users prefer odours of MHC-SIMILAR men, indicating that pill use might eliminate adaptive preferences for genetic dissimilarity.”
