96k revenue on 17k premium accounts doesnt make sense (5 USD per premium account per year?)

I am guessing it was 17k paid accounts over all from day one.

Has the price gone down at all? What are the current stats? This could be an awesome deal if the right people took control.

I’ve been a long time member of this site. At one time there were thousands of people on this site at any given time and the site had expanded to other cities.
Unfortunately, the owners could never quite monetize the site and when they converted over to a membership/dating site they did so in a very harsh and draconian way. The membership fled in droves and longtime “loyal” members who had 10’s of thousands of posts left as well.
People still use the site but not as many as used to. Many of those that remain remember what it was like before and lament the changes.
This site could be a cash cow but it would require some creative marketing and ad sales. It could also still be a paid membership site just for the dating. Bifurcating the local forums from the dating search engine and charging for the latter will create more traffic on the site while allowing an income flow from memberships.
Moderators could be unpaid volunteers who get free premium services and of course the ban stick.
This site has so much potential and if it taps into local business with coupons and free offers it can boost it’s advertising revenue while also creating more value for customers.
The format, once perfected in Louisville could be easily replicated in towns all over the states with only a moderate additional invest.
If I had the money and could write code I’d buy it myself.
Best.
