BOSTON MAGAZINE – Oct 4 – Since its debut one year ago, the card dating trend is still going strong. The two dominant companies in this niche are Cheek'd and FlipMe, which provides users cards similar to business cards with short sayings and a hyperlink to a private online profile. Another company called MeSayingHi has also carved a share of this emerging market. Time will tell if this trend goes mainstream.

I’m surprised at the success, but subscription based services can make money. The more I think about it, I feel these products appeal to women more, who might not have business cards, and are more protective of their safety around strange men.
