PR WEB – Nov 3 - Woo Media, the live interactive video network, with web properties including WooMe.com, Shufflepeople.com, and Monsterchat.com, has announced its sale to Zoosk, the world’s largest social dating site. WooMe’s 10M users will soon be able to engage directly with Zoosk’s user base of over 100M users. In addition, all properties owned and operated by Woo Media will also be merged into Zoosk. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

I loved the initial idea of WooMe but they took the quick money approach and this is what happens. Reminds me of SinglesNet, which was such a great acquisition for Match, right?
Of all the failed Chatroulette clones, perhaps shufflepeople was the most successful.
The value of Woo is not 10 million users, its the couple thousand paying customers.
Badoo is crushing it, and SNAP and Zoosk need to make some moves to shore up their positions. Who is SNAP going to acquire? Nobody is my guess. Instead, I can see Badoo buying SNAP and then being on the US stock market in a, er, snap.
In terms of Zoosk, investors have its valuation pumped way up, so an acquisition by Badoo seems unlikely.
