THIS IS MONEY – July 12 – Cupid, which has built a base of 56M users in 58 countries, is said to be attracting the attention of IAC. It is rumoured IAC wants to expand into the UK and sees Cupid as the perfect bolt-on. A cash bid of around £290M or 350p a share would first have to get the agreement of major shareholders, including CEO Bill Dobbie (17%) and former director Max Polyakov (15.5%).

Mark Brooks: IAC/Match.com doesn't do adult. BeNaughty is adult. Not gonna happen.

Well that’s a good way to boost your share price 🙂 Congrats on their PR team.
Am quite sure it’s not a serious story – those in the dating industry know IAC don’t touch adult and BeNaughty.com and Flirt.com would raise some eyebrows. Having said that, Singlesnet is a bit racy so maybe IAC’s policy is changing.
Either way, as a shareholder in Cupid I’m happy to see gossip like this raise the price 🙂
