Guess you heard from the same reporter as I did. buying and selling profiles is such a small aspect of whats wrong with online dating sites these days. I told the reporter this was not much of a story.
How about sites that create phantom profiles by sucking down your friends profiles from Facebook and creating profiles on the dating site from them? This is far more pervasive and problematic.
Or how about seeing how white label sites share profiles? What does it really mean to seed a new site with profiles from another existing site? What about when a site is sold to another site?
Problem is, getting the average reader/viewer to to understand how this all works is complicated.

I really don’t recommend these selling and buying dating sites stuff. If you are going to buy fake dating profiles why don’t you just make your own? And we are not sure if this is legal in the first place.

More and more of our customers were being scammed by these “Buy Dating Site Profiles” sites that we created an internal profile generator. While it’s not recommended to use fake profiles, this option gives our customers a free way to create a few internal profiles to jump start their sites.
