DIGITAL TRENDS – May 28 – Many marriages end in divorce, and divorces can be financially and emotionally devastating battles that drag on for years. There’s Wevorce, a new online service that promises to make the road to separation as simple as possible. It encourages civility for people who are ending their partnership. “Each party that works with Wevorce selects their own counsel to file their pleadings with the court house, so they never have to go to court,” said Wevorce cofounder Michelle Crosby. Wevorce just debuted to the general U.S. population last week.

Sounds interesting, but it always bothers me to see companies so blatantly capitalizing on the hardships of others. I went through arbitration when I got divorced. It was with a local community center and very cheap. But, I am all for civility during separation.

While the divorce rate in the U.S. hovers between 50-55%, according to the U.S. State Dept. this rate drops to 20% for Americans who marry a foreigner.
