MASHABLE – June 6 – A new survey by WhatsYourPrice.com found that one in three online-dating dads lie on their profiles about having kids. The main reason for this type of lie is male fear of rejection by a potential date. The survey found that more younger men lie about being a dad than guys over age 30.

They don’t deserve to be fathers!!! That’s just too bad. To deny one’s own children is about as mortal a sin as a man could commit. A man who would deny his own flesh and blood is no man.

Couldn’t agree more Mark. Seen plenty of women do the same also online and it’s jus as bad in my mind. Some even had kids but since their kids didn’t live with them they considered it as not having children.

Josh I understand women. I would not disclose it in my profile either. Women do it mainly to protect their children.

Mark and Josh, I don’t think you’re quite understanding the reasoning here. Some people under a certain age (say 25 or 30) feel that just having kids will be seen as a negative thing to potential dates just like being “divorced” at too young of an age will be. Some of the under 30 crowd will look at both as a negative etc… That’s why SOME people lie about it.
BUT as you get older, say….. 43 and up. It’s seen as a negative by women to NOT be divorced and have kids because 90% of the single women ARE and DO. I get disqualified every week on Match because I’m 49 and never had children. They think I couldn’t possibly relate to them or understand the demands and priorities. God forbid you just dare to ask a woman “how old are your kids?” you’ll never hear from them again. Sorry, I just want to know if your kids need a baby sitter and how much time you might have to date. Really, that’s it. There’s a massive difference between getting involved with someone with a 5 and 7 yr.old and a 15 and 17 yr.old I can assure you!
Why do some parents put pictures of their kids in their profiles and some absolutely refuse in horror?? Anyone??
