OPW – May 22 – The online dating market continues to evolve as more users transition to mobile apps, causing a shift in the dating site rankings. According to Pew Research, the opinions of online dating have improved and the stigma continues to fade. Pew also reports that one third of online daters have paid to use an online dating site or app, which coincides with growth in paying members on publicly traded dating sites.

The route with matchmakers will likely to fizzle again, or at best cater to nitch market. The route is dating advisor, right now dating industry like a gym without personal trainers. People want personal training, but all they can get is operation. Dating sites have same problem people not asking not to do any work, they are asking to get some personalize help and affordable levels without hassle of going and finding coach. If you got to gym and ask for personal trainer, they will have it. Every single gym will has it, yet not one dating site is offering that options (closes would be matches Profile Pro, which might have been cutting edge in 2007. but now its a mediocre and outdated service).
The problem is same for dating sites, people dont know how to use equipment. All the winks, quick dates, likes, messages, profile set up, these requires guidance.
If you went to gym and tried to do bench press without a trainer, you would likely to get frustrated and wouldn’t get much results. Online dating is same, you get frustrated and stop dating or do it badly and get burned out. One is physical, the other one is emotional, but problem is the same.
