LIVERPOOL ECHO REPORTER – Oct 11 – Police have admitted that social media is now playing an "active role" in drugs supply across Europe. A force spokesman said: “Enforcement agencies are aware of the development of technology to assist drug dealers with their networks, but this is not something limited to the UK and is a European-wide issue. "A study by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction found that social media was found to play an active role in drugs markets and smartphone apps were also being used in drugs supply."
