OPW – Nov 10 – Answer: Greg Blatt, the Chairman of Match Group. His salary was $500k in 2014, down from a cool million a year in 2013, and 2012. His total remuneration with stock awards for 2012, 2013 and 2014 totals $25 million.
A contender for the #2 spot is Sam Yagan, the CEO of Match Group. His salary is $500k but his total remuneration for 2012, 2013 and 2014 totals $12.77 million.
What do you think? Who else is at the top of the earnings tables?

These guys make money for their company, so paying them decently makes sense. Unlike, say, another dating company (cough cough) that paid its C-level execs exorbitant amounts to *lose* it money on a grand scale.

I run a dating business with no staff and very low overheads. It has no bonus or stock options etc but basic salary is $390,000. As I market, support and develop with no additional support it’s nice to see the core salary of the big guys is not that far away. Good leaders cost good money and if targets are met and net profit margins are healthy then you can command any salary you wish.

$390K is certainly healthy – kudos for your business working out, Mr. Anonymous. But, the core salary of these execs is tiny when compared to their total compensation, e.g. Greg Blatt’s total compensation averaged $8.33M p.a.
You and I are doing it wrong – we shouldn’t be self-employed; rather, we should be senior execs in these other companies 😉
