Spark Networks Paid $7M For JSwipe
SEEKING ALPHA – Dec 14 – Spark Networks paid $7M for a Jewish dating app JSwipe to boost its younger demographic in the Jewish Networks segment. JSwipe has ~450K users. Spark Networks pursued a patent infringement claim against then-competitor JSwipe in 2014. What started as a lawsuit ultimately ended in a key acquisition for Spark Networks.

NHS Hooks Up With Dating App Tinder On Organ Donations
BBC.COM. – Dec 14 – The NHS has partnered with Tinder to raise awareness about organ donations. According to the latest NHS Blood and Transplant report, the number of people in the UK donating organs after death had fallen for the first time in more than a decade. NHS would like more young people join its campaign. Tinder has created celebrities profiles, including Olympic gold medallist Jade Jones MBE. The profiles will feature The Wait logo to draw attention to the importance of organ donations. Users who swipe right will match with these profiles and receive a message that says: "If only it was that easy for those in need of a life-saving organ to find a match."
Virtual Reality Dating Will Be The Norm, Says eHarmony
INVERSE – Dec 13 – Paul Hollywood created VR social networking site vTime, which isn't specifically for dating right now, but he thinks it would be cool to use the tool for virtual dates. Digital lovers will interact via their virtual avatars and meet in virtual spaces. It'll serve as an accurate tool for pre-screening dates. eHarmony predicted that VR dating will be the norm by 2040.
Enverro Expands DateTix Dating App To Asian Universities

Siren Is Another Female-Friendly Dating App
HUFFINGTON POST – Dec 10 – Susie Lee launched Siren, a female-friendly dating app, two months ago. Siren allows women to control their own visibility. Users choose who gets to see their photos and when, exactly, they reveal them. After two months, the app gained 9,500 members, and the female-to-male ratio is 53:47 across all ages, according to Lee. There is no swiping, users get to know each other through a "Question of the Day" forum.
MeetMe Releases Revamped MeetMe+ Subscription App
BUSINESS WIRE – Dec 10 – MeetMe, a public social discovery service, has released a major revamp of its MeetMe+ subscription product to increase the number of paying subscribers.
