HUFFINGTON POST – Sep 5 – The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) eighth annual report on scam activity revealed that dating and romance scams had led to $25.5M in financial losses. In 2016, the ACCC began a pilot program with companies from the banking and financial services industry, telecommunications sector, and social media companies such as Apple and Facebook, to share information to improve scam prevention.
