CRIME RUSSIA – Oct 25 – Senator Tamara Pletneva, the chairman of Russia's State Duma Committee on family relations, believes dating sites have a negative impact on the relationship between a man and a woman. There’s A New Dating App Called Blindfold
URBAN DADDY – Oct 25 – A new dating app called Blindfold has just launched in New York, after having launched in Los Angeles earlier this year. On Blindfold, users build their profile with the normal good-but-not-too-good photos and start by answering some "yes" or "no" questions in what they call the "preference deck." Then they'll get to the standard left-or-right swiping, the difference being they can see how compatible they are with a potential match, given their preferences. Once they match, they'll have the option to play another "deck," swiping "yes" or "no" on 21 cards, each of which has a phrase or activity that belongs to a particular topic. When they're done, a recap will reveal where they did and didn't match. Finally, with a single tap, they can send messages based on their answers.
Badoo To Help Solve Ghosting Problem
COSMPOLITAN – Oct 25 – Dating app Badoo is introducing a new feature to curb ghosting as painlessly as possible. The app will now offer pre-existing responses to users who might've accidentally ghosted on their matches. After three days of not responding, the app will give them a gentle reminder to check back in. With one tap they can let others know they're still interested. If you're no longer interested, there are also a variety of polite responses they can send instead. The feature is currently being tested in Europe and will soon roll out for testing stateside before launching for everyone early next year.
