FAST COMPANY – July 16 – Bumble is also announcing a major reorganization and rebranding that will make the company the new overseer of its sibling dating app, Badoo. Until now, the two apps had been under the umbrella of the holding company MagicLab. But that company is being renamed Bumble. Bumble is bringing on a new president, Tariq Shaukat, previously president of industry products and solutions at Google Cloud. Bumble also announced a new board of directors. Led by chairwoman Ann Mather, the former CFO of Pixar Studios, the Bumble board also includes Pamela Thomas-Graham, the author and former CEO of CNBC; Elisa Steele, the chairwoman of Cornerstone; and Matthew Bromberg, COO of Zynga. Bumble and Badoo have a base of 600M users. CEO Wolfe Herd now oversees ~750 employees in Austin, London, and Moscow.

More People Are Talking About Politics on Dating Apps
INSIDER – July 15 – But a majority of people find it to be a huge turn off according to a new survey by Dating.com. The platform saw a 43% increase in users discussing politics. However, over half said they would consider ghosting someone if they brought up politics. 84% of respondents said they would never consider dating someone with opposing political views. The company surveyed 2K of its members in the US.
Tinder’s “Army of Swipers” Continues to Grow
VISUAL CAPITALIST – July 15 – Almost half of Americans today between the ages of 18 and 29 report having used a dating site or app to find a partner. Match Group acquired some 20 companies throughout its brief history. As a result, Match Group now has an impressive 45 dating services in its growing roster. Since their 2015 IPO, Match Group's stock is up 600%, reaching a market capitalization of $25B. Tinder now claims 59M people.
New Dating App ‘Tabby’ Helps Cat Lovers Connect
PEOPLE.COM – July 14 – Tabby launches just in time for International Cat Day on August 8. Created by sisters Leigh and Casey Isaacson, the app is designed "for both cat lovers and cat owners". Leigh and Casey have recently launched a dating app for dog people called Dig.

BUSINESS INSIDER – July 14 – Aisle, the home-grown dating app is among the top 5 grossing dating apps in India. The app has seen 3M downloads worldwide. Aisle was launched 6 years ago and has 10 employees.
Heybaby – a New Dating App For Parents and People Who Want to be Parents
MASHABLE – July 14 – There are ~13M single parents in the United States, and half of people aged 20 to 45 report wanting children – but it's not exactly what people want to open a Tinder conversation with. Heybaby wants to take away the apprehension involved in trying to find a partner with similar life plans. The app will be available first in San Francisco, where the team is based, but it will expand eventually to everywhere in the United States. It's also iOS only for now.
Why BlueCity Holdings Is Tumbling 15%
THE MOTLEY FOOL – July 14 – Shares of BlueCity Holdings, owner of a Chinese LBGTQ+ dating app, were tumbling almost 16% in midday trading Monday. BlueCity, which owns the Blued app, only went public last Wednesday, soaring 46% in its debut and raising $85M. It sold 5.6M shares to the public. Investors still might be gun-shy about small Chinese start-ups going public in the U.S.

Match Group’s Hawaya Launches in Canada
NEWSWIRE.CA – July 13 – Hawaya, a dating app designed for Muslim men and women with serious intentions, is currently available in 11 countries, with plans to expand to the U.S. and U.K. this summer. The app is making its North American debut in Canada. Hawaya was founded in 2017 by Sameh Saleh, who crafted the app to help his sister go through a pleasant, comfortable and safe journey towards marriage.
