MASHABLE – Sep 15 – Match will prompt users and ask if they're ready to move to the next step if a conversation looks promising. The pop-up allows them to share how they're feeling about someone without the potential awkwardness of their match not reciprocating. According to Match's recent survey, 93% of users said they'd like to know if someone on a dating app is as into them as they are. 66% have wrongfully assumed a match's interest level. Once both people are ready, the profiles move to "Dates," a dedicated section of the app. From there, they'll learn about their match's dating preferences like how they prefer to social distance, and what their ideal first date is.

She wrote that her client did not reject the match proposed, and that he was within the age range that she preferred. Ms Lim also refuted a few statements her client made. Ms Lim said that the company will "fight on towards our big hairy audacious goal of 1M happy marriages."

Shaadi.com Claims a 35-40% Surge in Users During Covid
AFAQS – Sep 14 – According to Shaadi's director of brand marketing, Adhish Zaveri, the company saw a 35-40% surge in its customer base. Zaveri credits this hike in users to the extra time at hand, given the work-from-home routine and loneliness. The site sees most number of active users during early morning hours and late evening – post 7 p.m. This, Zaveri says, hasn’t changed pre, or post, pandemic. So far, the platform has organised five virtual weddings, two of which were done on Facebook Live and were attended by 250K people virtually. Later, in June, Shaadi.com introduced 'Shaadi Meet' – a video calling feature for premium members. 500K calls were made in the first week.

Through the app, parents can provide potential couples with gift cards to Starbucks, local bars, or movie theaters. But to unlock the funds, they'll have to complete an icebreaker activity, whether it's answering trivia questions about each other or playing a quick game of tic tac toe. ~500 parents have joined JustKibbitz's waiting list so far, and Kaplan said the app will launch once it meets a "critical mass" of interested subscribers.
